Computers in network environments need exact time to keep application data and file management up to date. The clocks in computers are not very exact. Some clocks differ up to several minutes after a few weeks. Nobody wants to set his clock every day to keep it in range.
Even in network environments is exact time very important. File synchronization between computers with different clock settings can result in wrong file versions. Also the requirements for project management, time scheduling, dating and record keeping are very high.
